What does my kid want?!

When I was young, as soon as I was old enough, I babysat for my neighbors. At church as soon as I was too old for Sunday school, I volunteered so I could stay with the kids. Adult church had a lot of sitting and being quiet and I liked the liveliness of kid’s church much better.

I knew what kids wanted. And they all liked me, because I gave them what they wanted most of the time. It’s what I wanted and every other person on earth wants.

So what do kids want?

1. They want to be seen.
That’s why “look at me!” Or “watch me!” are common phrases.

Overused sometimes quite often super annoying phrases.

Because children say them over and over until you do, or you freak out because you are busy and don’t want to stop what you are doing to look.

But that’s one thing we all want and kids know how to ask for it.

We all want to be seen and noticed. To be acknowledged by the people we are with. It’s just a human thing.

And kids are human.

The second thing, that goes hand in hand with the first thing…

2. The want to be liked and enjoyed.

Don’t we all?

It doesn’t come naturally to everyone, the skill of enjoying children. So if you don’t have it, you will have to practice. Or watch people who do.

I think I learned this skill as a small child myself at the nursing home my mom brought us to. Elderly have this skill, they’ve had the time to perfect it.

So there you have it, the 2 things kids want MORE THAN ANYTHING!

You thought I was going to sell you something, didn’t you?

The best things in life are free.

And you can’t buy happiness.

But you can buy good books, so🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t know if that phrase is totally true.

Please comment and share if you want to. It makes me happy when you do 😊🥰
